What "++" means
Macau hotel spa menus mark prices with ++. It means the figure excludes a 10% service charge and 5% government tax. A MOP 1,280 treatment marked ++ costs about MOP 1,472 once both are added. The 10% service charge is the gratuity — no extra tip is expected on top of it.
Paying in Hong Kong dollars
Hong Kong dollars are accepted everywhere in Macau at roughly 1:1 with the pataca. A MOP 1,280 treatment can be paid with HKD 1,280. There is no need to exchange currency for spa visits.
Why vouchers are so much cheaper
Hotels sell pre-paid vouchers through Klook and Trip.com to fill off-peak capacity. The treatment itself is the same as the full-rate booking. The trade-off: vouchers require an advance reservation with the spa directly, and are usually harder to change or cancel at short notice. How the voucher route works.
