Peninsula

The Macau Peninsula spa guide: the old side of the harbour, mapped.

Most Macau spa coverage points at Cotai, and most Macau days are not spent there. They are spent on the Peninsula: the Ruins of St Paul's in the morning, Senado Square at lunch, the old streets down to the Inner Harbour, a ferry to catch at the end of it. The Peninsula has its own spa map, and it works differently from the Strip. The hotel spas line the NAPE waterfront and watch over the ferry terminal, a French spa anchors Ponte 16, and a set of 24-hour foot massage shops never closes at all. Here it is by neighbourhood, so you can match the spa to the part of the old town you are already in.

Key facts

The layout
Four bands: the ferry terminal and Fisherman's Wharf; the NAPE waterfront (Mandarin Oriental, MGM, Wynn); the historic centre (Grand Emperor, Ponte 16); and the north, around Areia Preta.
The hours
Peninsula hotel spas mostly close at 21:00. Sands Spa runs to 01:00, and four independent shops are open 24 hours.
The money
Independent shops charge about MOP 180–400 for 60 minutes. Hotel spas publish MOP 1,150–1,500 for the same hour, plus 10% service charge and 5% tax. The full breakdown is on the prices page.
Bookable online
Sands Spa and The Spa at Mandarin Oriental sell vouchers on Klook; Jukang Le and YOUTH SPA sell them on KKday. The rest book direct with the hotel or take walk-ins.

The map

Four bands, four different evenings

Off the ferry. The Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal is the Peninsula's front door, and the massage starts within a few minutes of it. Sands Spa is inside Sands Macao by Fisherman's Wharf, under ten minutes on foot from the terminal doors, and two 24-hour foot massage houses, Jukang Le and Foot Recreation, sit further east along Avenida da Amizade. This is the band for the first hour of a trip, the last hour before the sailing home, and any arrival that lands after the hotel spas have closed.

The NAPE waterfront. South of the old town, along Avenida Dr Sun Yat Sen and Rua Cidade de Sintra, the big hotels line the Nam Van Lake side: Mandarin Oriental at One Central, Tria Spa at MGM Macau, and the twin spas at Wynn and Encore. This is the Peninsula's hotel spa row, the full ceremony version: facilities, lounges, tea, and a bill to match. It suits the slow afternoon and the pre-dinner slot, and it is about 15 minutes on foot from Senado Square, or five in a taxi.

The historic centre. In the old town itself the choice narrows to two, and both are about timing. Thai Xi Spa, on the 20th floor of the Grand Emperor Hotel, is under ten minutes from Senado Square and never closes. Sofitel SPA at Ponte 16 sits at the Inner Harbour end of the centre, about ten minutes from the square in the other direction. This is the after-sightseeing band: a foot massage between the Ruins and dinner, with no cross-town trip attached.

The north. Up in Areia Preta, YOUTH SPA's Lei Keng branch runs the Thai bath house format around the clock: soak first, massage after, in a part of town most visitors only pass through on the way to the Border Gate. It is the locals' option on this list, and the one to know if you are staying up that way.

Where to go

The Peninsula spas and massage shops, band by band

01

Sands Spa at Sands Macao

Peninsula · Fisherman's Wharf, Sands MacaoOpen to 01:00Bookable online

The ferry terminal's hotel spa. The treatment floor is on the 8th floor, with a jacuzzi, plunge pool, steam room and sauna you can use before or after your session, then tea in the relaxation lounge. The menu runs from 45, 60 and 90-minute foot reflexology to deep tissue and traditional Chinese massage, and the Klook voucher is the cheapest way into a Peninsula hotel spa: the listing started at US$38.50 when checked on 27 October 2026, with packages valid to 31 December 2026. Mind the blackout dates, which include 19 to 31 December 2026, and reserve with the spa after you buy: the voucher alone does not hold a time.

02

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Macau

Peninsula · One Central, Avenida Dr Sun Yat SenDaily 13:00–21:00Bookable online

The quiet end of the NAPE row, and the Peninsula's most deliberate spa. The hotel asks you to arrive at least 45 minutes before your appointment, and means it: there is a tea lounge, heat and water facilities, a steam room and a vitality pool to get through first. Four individual treatment rooms, three couples suites, and an Oriental suite overlooking Macau Tower and Nam Van Lake. Prices carry the standard 10% service charge and 5% government tax, and the minimum age is 16. Klook sells a massage voucher for it; booking direct with the spa works the same way.

03

Tria Spa at MGM Macau

Peninsula · MGM Macau, NAPEBook direct

MGM's spa, a few doors along the waterfront from the Mandarin Oriental, built around water: an infinity pool and jacuzzi with panoramic views over the South China Sea sit alongside the treatment rooms, and the current wellness programme is the technology-led R3 Experience. The signature treatment is the Turkish bath journey, a 90-minute hammam ritual at MOP 2,580, with 60 and 90-minute signature massages at MOP 1,380 and MOP 1,780, plus 10% service charge and 5% tax. Non-guests are explicitly welcome. There is no platform voucher for Tria: book direct with MGM.

04

The Spa at Wynn, Wynn Macau

Peninsula · Rua Cidade de Sintra, NAPEDaily 11:00–21:00Book direct

A Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa inside the original Wynn, across the road from MGM. Separate women's and men's facilities with an aromatic steam room, sauna, whirlpool and experience showers, and private therapy suites for the signature Jade Radiance and Beau-Tea Ritual treatments. The same complex holds a second spa, The Spa at Encore, where every therapy suite has its own steam room, sauna, hydrotherapy aroma bath and relaxation lounge; it keeps the same 11:00 to 21:00 hours. Neither sells vouchers on the platforms this site tracks, so appointments are made with the hotel.

05

Sofitel SPA at Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16

Peninsula · Ponte 16, Inner HarbourDaily 11:00–21:00Book direct

The historic centre's hotel spa, at the western edge of the old town where the Inner Harbour begins. Sofitel's format mixes French cosmetology with world spa traditions, in a calmer, smaller setting than the NAPE row. It is the natural pairing with a day in the old streets: ten minutes on foot from Senado Square, and the Rua das Lorchas and A-Ma Temple end of town starts at its door. No current published price list could be verified, so confirm prices when you book, and book direct: the hotel takes reservations through its own channels.

06

Thai Xi Spa at the Grand Emperor Hotel

Peninsula · 20F, Grand Emperor Hotel, 288 Avenida ComercialOpen 24 hours, 365 daysWalk in

The centre's safety net. A Thai massage shop on the 20th floor of a hotel a short walk from the Grand Lisboa and under ten minutes from Senado Square, staffed by Southeast Asian therapists and open around the clock: 30-minute head, shoulder and neck sessions, a 60-minute aromatherapy oil massage, and a 90-minute oil spa with bubble bath. Walk in at whatever hour the sightseeing, the dinner or the casino lets you go. Prices are not published online, so confirm the rate before the treatment starts. See the late-night guide for how it compares after dark.

07

Jukang Le (足康樂) at Hong On Centre

Peninsula · 1315 Avenida da Amizade, next to Hotel Golden DragonOpen 24 hoursBookable online

A 30-year-old foot reflexology house with a branch on the ferry terminal's road. The Peninsula shop is in Hong On Centre, on the ground and first floors next to the Hotel Golden Dragon, and runs 24 hours, seven days a week. The KKday voucher covers 60-minute packages: a classic aromatherapy full-body oil massage, or a Bali rose foot bath with acupressure foot work, listed at about MOP 265 to 440 depending on the package. Watch the name: Jukang Le (足康樂) is not Foot Recreation (足之樂) below. The characters differ by a stroke and the two are unrelated. Guests must be 18 or over.

08

Foot Recreation (足之樂)

Peninsula · Avenida da AmizadeOpen 24 hours, 365 daysWalk in · 18+ only

Macau's flagship foot massage chain, and the walk-in benchmark on this side of the harbour: foot baths, foot massage and full-body aromatherapy at fixed prices, at any hour, with no booking to manage. The Peninsula branch sits on Avenida da Amizade, the same road as the branch above and the Grand Prix circuit's home straight. It is the simplest answer in this guide: if your feet hurt and the hour does not matter, go here. There is no online voucher; you walk in and pay the counter price.

09

YOUTH SPA, Lei Keng branch

Peninsula · Hoi Keng Garden, Avenida de Marciano Baptista 25–37, Areia PretaOpen 24 hours, 365 daysBookable online

The bath house of the north. YOUTH SPA runs the Thai format: a long soak first, then the massage, in rooms built around proper bathtubs, with private suites, rest and sleeping areas, showers and lockers. The KKday package is a 120-minute bubble bath experience built for two people sharing: a bath-bomb bubble bath, Chinese acupressure massage and an aromatherapy full-body oil massage, with the soak itself not counted in the 120 minutes. Listed prices run from about MOP 430 to 1,190 by package. The branch is in Areia Preta, a short taxi ride from the Border Gate, and guests must be 18 or over. More on how its voucher works in the independent massage shops guide.

Good to know

Matching the spa to the moment

After sightseeing, think feet first. A day that runs Ruins of St Paul's, Senado Square, the Mandarin's House and A-Ma Temple is a walking day, and the honest fix is 45 to 60 minutes of foot reflexology, not a full spa booking. Thai Xi and Sofitel SPA are the centre's two ends; Jukang Le and Foot Recreation are the budget version on the Amizade road.

Before dinner, work backwards from 21:00. The Peninsula hotel spas close at 21:00, and Mandarin Oriental wants you there 45 minutes early for the facilities, so a 60-minute treatment is really a half evening. Book the 17:00 or 18:00 slot, use the heat and water first, and walk to dinner in NAPE or the old town from there. Sands Spa is the exception that fits after dinner instead: it runs to 01:00.

Late night belongs to the independents. After 21:00 the hotel row goes dark, and after 01:00 even Sands Spa closes. Thai Xi, Foot Recreation, Jukang Le and YOUTH SPA never close. The late-night guide covers the after-hours etiquette in full.

Evenings are the peak, everywhere. The independent shops fill from about 20:00 and on weekends, and walk-ins may wait; the hotel spas book out on holiday weekends, and on Grand Prix weekend the circuit wraps around this side of the city, roads included. Reserve the hotel spas ahead, and give the walk-in shops an off-peak hour if you can.

Day-tripping from Hong Kong? TurboJET lands you at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, in the Amizade band, minutes from Sands Spa and the 24-hour shops. Cotai Water Jet lands in Taipa instead, which is Cotai's spa map, not this one. The getting there guide has the ferry detail.

Questions

Frequently asked

Which part of the Macau Peninsula has the most spas?

Two corridors hold most of them. The NAPE waterfront, along Avenida Dr Sun Yat Sen and Rua Cidade de Sintra, has the hotel spas: Mandarin Oriental, Tria at MGM Macau, and the spas at Wynn and Encore. Avenida da Amizade, running east from the ferry terminal, has Sands Spa and the 24-hour foot massage shops.

What is the closest massage to Senado Square?

Thai Xi Spa, on the 20th floor of the Grand Emperor Hotel on Avenida Comercial, is under ten minutes on foot from Senado Square and open 24 hours. Sofitel SPA at Ponte 16 is about ten minutes in the other direction, towards the Inner Harbour.

Which Macau Peninsula spa stays open latest?

Of the hotel spas, Sands Spa at Sands Macao, open to 1am. After that, the 24-hour independents take over: Thai Xi Spa, Foot Recreation and Jukang Le on or near Avenida da Amizade, and YOUTH SPA in Areia Preta.

Can non-guests book the Peninsula hotel spas?

Yes. Nearly all Macau hotel spas accept non-guests, the Peninsula ones included, and Tria Spa at MGM Macau says so explicitly. You book the treatment, and the facilities that come with it, without needing a room.

How much does a massage cost on the Macau Peninsula?

Independent shops charge about MOP 180 to 400 for 60 minutes. The Peninsula hotel spas publish MOP 1,150 to 1,500 for 60 minutes, plus 10% service charge and 5% tax. Platform vouchers sit below the published rates: Sands Spa vouchers on Klook started at US$38.50 when checked on 27 October 2026. The prices page breaks the tiers down in full.
